Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.99% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA), which rose 6.92% or 17.7 points to trade at 273.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) added 4.38% or 6.2 points to end at 147.7 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) was up 0.94% or 1.3 points to 140.2 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which fell 3.70% or 2.00 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 3.51% or 0.60 points to end at 16.48 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was down 2.98% or 0.19 points to 6.19.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 85 to 76 and 27 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.70% or 0.32 to $45.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.35 to trade at $1332.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.13% to 9.3696, while USD/NOK rose 0.69% to 8.5068.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.09.
