Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Auto & components and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 5.67% or 0.59 points to trade at 10.90 at the close. Meanwhile, BW Offshore Ltd (OL:BWO) added 4.65% or 2.800 points to end at 63.000 and Elkem ASA (OL:ELK) was up 3.74% or 0.84 points to 23.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which fell 2.70% or 0.87 points to trade at 31.40 at the close. SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) declined 0.95% or 4.10 points to end at 428.90 and Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) was down 0.60% or 0.50 points to 82.54.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 140 to 77 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 4.45% or 2.40 to $56.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 4.29% or 2.50 to hit $60.76 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.35 to trade at $1556.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.24% to 9.9606, while USD/NOK fell 0.74% to 9.0333.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 98.433.
