Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 13.93% or 0.15 points to trade at 1.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 11.77% or 2.0 points to end at 18.8 and Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) was up 3.98% or 2.95 points to 77.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 2.82% or 0.3 points to trade at 12.1 at the close. Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) declined 1.48% or 3.6 points to end at 240.0 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was down 1.28% or 0.21 points to 16.19.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 104 to 72 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.82% or 0.3 to 12.1.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.96% or 0.86 to $43.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.48% or 0.69 to hit $45.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.35 to trade at $1310.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.13% to 9.2673, while USD/NOK rose 0.90% to 8.3063.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.00.
