Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Diversified Financials, Telecoms and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 7.65% or 0.7 points to trade at 9.3 at the close. Meanwhile, Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) added 4.81% or 4.65 points to end at 101.40 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 3.26% or 4.3 points to 136.2 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG), which fell 3.79% or 5.50 points to trade at 139.50 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 2.94% or 0.8 points to end at 26.8 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was down 2.65% or 0.16 points to 5.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 107 to 66 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.81% or 4.65 to 101.40.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.73% or 1.36 to $48.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.83% or 1.45 to hit $49.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.45 to trade at $1323.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.64% to 9.2767, while USD/NOK rose 0.11% to 8.4073.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.77% at 96.43.
