Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Materials and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 6.77% or 1.6 points to trade at 25.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 5.21% or 0.89 points to end at 17.97 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 3.13% or 1.13 points to 37.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 5.50% or 0.8 points to trade at 13.8 at the close. Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) declined 3.36% or 4.80 points to end at 138.20 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) was down 2.28% or 5.9 points to 253.3.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 109 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.50% or 0.8 to 13.8. Shares in Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.13% or 1.13 to 37.23.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.92% or 1.22 to $43.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.48% or 1.10 to hit $45.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.75 to trade at $1341.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.53% to 9.3910, while USD/NOK fell 0.53% to 8.4768.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.36.
