Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Telecoms and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which rose 5.28% or 1.87 points to trade at 37.30 at the close. Meanwhile, SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) added 4.27% or 16.60 points to end at 405.20 and Leroy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) was up 1.93% or 1.14 points to 60.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which fell 2.83% or 0.38 points to trade at 13.06 at the close. TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) declined 2.08% or 5.0 points to end at 235.4 and Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) was down 2.05% or 2.1 points to 100.2.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 106 to 103 and 26 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.03% or 0.58 to $56.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.51% or 0.94 to hit $63.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.84% or 11.85 to trade at $1419.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.33% to 9.6319, while USD/NOK fell 0.31% to 8.5377.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.330.
