Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Banking and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.23% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 3.27% or 1.54 points to trade at 48.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) added 2.35% or 1.64 points to end at 71.30 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 1.29% or 0.49 points to 38.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SalMar ASA (OL:SALM), which fell 1.64% or 7.20 points to trade at 430.60 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.52% or 3.70 points to end at 239.20 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) was down 1.24% or 3.60 points to 285.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 81 to 79 and 39 ended unchanged.
Shares in Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.35% or 1.64 to 71.30.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.12% or 0.08 to $67.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1221.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.47% to 9.5852, while USD/NOK rose 0.85% to 8.2900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.22.
