* LO workers, employers agree interim wage deal
* Deal sees wage rise of above 1 percent
OSLO, March 31 (Reuters) - Norway's main union confederation said it agreed an interim wage deal with employers on Thursday that will give industry workers with average salaries pay rises of 4,000 Norwegian crowns ($724) a year, or just above 1 percent.
The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) said in a statement on its website it also had agreed with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) that workers earning 90 percent or less of the average wage of 378,573 Norwegian crowns ($68,544) would get a 6,000 crown yearly pay rise.
"We are pleased with the results in this year's interim settlement," said LO leader Roar Flaathen. "(The deal) has a 'low wage profile' and contributes to equal pay. At the same time, we have secured all LO members covered by the settlement a good real wage growth and protect jobs."
The agreement covers about 200,000 workers.
