TOKYO, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.5 percent to reach its highest level in more than four and a half months on Thursday as recent falls in the yen against the dollar and strong technical trends prompted follow-through buying.
The benchmark Nikkei opened up 47.59 points at 9,878.11, while the broader Topix rose 0.4 percent to 856.14. (Reporting by Chikafumi Hodo; Editing by Joseph Radford)
