TOKYO, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average was almost unchanged on Tuesday after hitting a three-week closing high the day before, with investors awaiting a ruling party leadership vote in the afternoon while the yen's strength continued to weigh.
The benchmark Nikkei was down 2.32 points at 9,319.50. It rose 0.9 percent on Monday to 9,321.82, its highest close since Aug. 19.
