TOKYO, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei edged up 0.4 percent on Friday, buoyed by tech and exporter shares after U.S. data showed improvement in housing and the job market, further calming fears about the pace of global economic recovery.
But gains are set to be capped by investor wariness ahead of closely-watched non-farm payrolls figures due out later on Friday.
The benchmark Nikkei gained 30.77 points to 9,093.61, while the broader Topix rose 0.3 percent to 821.59. (Reporting by Elaine Lies; Editing by Joseph Radford)
