TOKYO, Dec 30 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 0.3 percent on the final trading day of the year on Thursday after the yen advanced to a seven-week high against the dollar, but ample bargain-hunting demand is expected to provide support.
The benchmark Nikkei was down 30.03 points at 10,314.51.
