Investing.com - Nike (NYSE:NKE) shares slid in after-hours trading Thursday, retreating following quarterly numbers that looked just OK.
The athleticwear giant reported earnings per share of $0.68 on revenue of $9.61 billion. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.64 on revenue of $9.58 billion. That compared to EPS of $0.68 on revenue of $8.98 billion in the same period a year earlier.
Gross margin for the quarter came in at 45.1%, a tad higher than the consensus and company guidance.
But shares slipped 3.2% in postmarket trading.
Investors were clearly hoping for stronger numbers given that the stock is trading around all-time highs.
