Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Insurance, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 0.27% or 0.05 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 0.20% or 0.10 points to end at 50.00 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was up 0.11% or 0.05 points to 44.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 4.90% or 1.10 points to trade at 21.35 at the close. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 4.87% or 2.00 points to end at 39.10 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was down 4.74% or 0.090 points to 1.810.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 74 to 22 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.87% or 2.00 to 39.10.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.38% or 0.27 to $70.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.23% or 0.95 to hit $78.07 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1319.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.34% to 431.350, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 361.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 92.28.
