Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which rose 10.19% or 19.70 points to trade at 213.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 3.77% or 2.00 points to end at 53.00 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 2.04% or 0.40 points to 20.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 6.17% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.520 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) declined 4.51% or 4.50 points to end at 95.25 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 3.80% or 0.030 points to 0.790.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 52 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.31 to $65.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $76.56 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1302.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.75% to 422.520, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.55.
