Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which rose 5.56% or 5.00 points to trade at 94.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) added 1.11% or 0.100 points to end at 9.050 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 50.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which fell 9.51% or 142.70 points to trade at 1357.30 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) declined 9.35% or 0.130 points to end at 1.260 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was down 9.33% or 1.40 points to 13.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 55 to 32 and 17 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.83% or 0.58 to $70.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.66% or 0.51 to hit $77.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 6.30 to trade at $1205.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.44% to 423.450, while USD/NGN rose 0.08% to 362.050.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.72.
