Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 2.44% or 1.10 points to trade at 46.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 1.76% or 0.030 points to end at 1.730 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 1.55% or 1.40 points to 91.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which fell 7.25% or 6.25 points to trade at 79.90 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 7.17% or 0.85 points to end at 11.00 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was down 4.81% or 0.65 points to 12.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 47 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.25% or 6.25 to 79.90.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.49% or 0.35 to $71.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.37% or 0.30 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.95% or 11.40 to trade at $1187.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 1.27% to 422.240, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 363.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 94.46.
