Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 0.94% or 0.15 points to trade at 16.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 0.21% or 0.10 points to end at 47.70 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was up 0.19% or 0.10 points to 52.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 8.93% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) declined 5.00% or 72.20 points to end at 1372.80 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was down 4.83% or 0.140 points to 2.760.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 49 to 33 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.21% or 0.10 to 47.70.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.38% or 0.85 to $60.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.11% or 0.73 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.20 to trade at $1319.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.94% to 441.010, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 90.27.
