Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 2.80% or 1.12 points to trade at 41.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 2.74% or 0.40 points to end at 15.00 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 2.66% or 0.17 points to 6.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 3.39% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) declined 2.07% or 0.29 points to end at 13.70 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was down 1.92% or 0.74 points to 37.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 44 to 33 and 17 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.16% or 0.55 to $48.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $53.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.12% or 15.10 to trade at $1336.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.74% to 431.810, while USD/NGN rose 0.42% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 91.83.
