Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.48% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 9.59% or 130.00 points to trade at 1400.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) added 7.01% or 0.55 points to end at 7.25 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was up 3.70% or 0.50 points to 14.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which fell 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 14.40 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) declined 9.00% or 4.05 points to end at 40.95 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) was down 7.27% or 0.80 points to 10.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 67 to 24 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.27% or 0.80 to 10.20.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.90% or 1.96 to $69.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.18% or 1.69 to hit $79.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1200.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.07% to 420.810, while USD/NGN rose 0.33% to 363.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.22.
