Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 2.56% or 0.40 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 1.15% or 0.50 points to end at 44.00 and Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) was up 0.76% or 0.75 points to 99.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which fell 4.35% or 11.00 points to trade at 242.00 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 3.85% or 0.020 points to end at 0.510 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was down 2.90% or 4.90 points to 165.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 38 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.63% or 0.32 to $51.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.34% or 0.19 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.35% or 4.49 to trade at $1289.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.35% to 425.620, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 356.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 92.90.
