Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 10.13% or 0.76 points to trade at 8.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 8.79% or 1.28 points to end at 15.84 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) was up 3.37% or 0.62 points to 19.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which fell 4.90% or 12.00 points to trade at 233.00 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) declined 4.65% or 2.05 points to end at 42.00 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was down 4.17% or 1.00 points to 23.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 40 to 30 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.13% or 0.76 to 8.26. Shares in Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 8.79% or 1.28 to 15.84.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.46% or 0.24 to $52.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.56% or 0.33 to hit $58.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.81 to trade at $1271.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.31% to 425.260, while USD/NGN fell 0.83% to 357.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.90% at 94.37.
