Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 0.38% or 0.05 points to trade at 13.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 0.20% or 0.10 points to end at 50.00 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was up 0.13% or 0.05 points to 39.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 6.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) declined 4.52% or 0.450 points to end at 9.500 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was down 4.35% or 1.30 points to 28.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 50 to 33 and 22 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $66.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $72.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1219.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.15% to 419.690, while USD/NGN rose 0.07% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 95.32.
