Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 9.81% or 0.310 points to trade at 3.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) added 9.26% or 0.100 points to end at 1.180 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) was up 9.18% or 0.090 points to 1.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 4.98% or 1.15 points to trade at 21.94 at the close. Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) declined 4.78% or 0.42 points to end at 8.89 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was down 4.30% or 2.02 points to 45.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 37 to 37 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) fell to 52-week highs; down 4.78% or 0.42 to 8.89. Shares in Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.18% or 0.090 to 1.070.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.22% or 0.14 to $64.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $69.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 8.10 to trade at $1331.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.55% to 441.250, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 90.24.
