Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 2.50% or 30.00 points to trade at 1230.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) added 2.00% or 0.010 points to end at 0.510 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was up 0.81% or 0.050 points to 6.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which fell 5.00% or 0.95 points to trade at 18.05 at the close. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 5.00% or 12.25 points to end at 232.75 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was down 4.70% or 2.07 points to 41.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 37 to 32 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.99% or 1.05 to $53.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.55% or 0.92 to hit $60.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.62 to trade at $1272.22 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 1.58% to 418.550, while USD/NGN rose 0.98% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 94.93.
