Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 4.55% or 2.00 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 2.13% or 0.030 points to end at 1.440 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 1.94% or 23.23 points to 1223.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which fell 4.96% or 0.84 points to trade at 16.11 at the close. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.69% or 11.49 points to end at 233.51 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 3.85% or 0.020 points to 0.510.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 39 to 27 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.31% or 0.16 to $51.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.51% or 0.29 to hit $57.52 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.84 to trade at $1282.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.14% to 425.060, while USD/NGN rose 0.98% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 93.55.
