Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 3.58% or 1.90 points to trade at 53.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) added 3.32% or 7.40 points to end at 230.00 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 2.35% or 36.80 points to 1605.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 4.88% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.780 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) declined 4.44% or 1.00 points to end at 21.50 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) was down 4.35% or 0.040 points to 0.880.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 53 to 33 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) rose to all time highs; rising 2.35% or 36.80 to 1605.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $68.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.72% or 0.53 to hit $74.53 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.50 to trade at $1318.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.15% to 438.600, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 91.25.
