Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which rose 4.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 2.55% or 1.10 points to end at 43.04 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was up 1.82% or 0.80 points to 44.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which fell 4.96% or 0.84 points to trade at 16.11 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) declined 4.73% or 0.070 points to end at 1.410 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was down 4.64% or 2.60 points to 53.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 39 to 32 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.27% or 0.66 to $51.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.60% or 0.93 to hit $57.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.54% or 6.91 to trade at $1289.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.61% to 425.670, while USD/NGN rose 0.98% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.09.
