Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 2.50%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 6.38% or 1.10 points to trade at 18.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) added 4.72% or 5.00 points to end at 111.30 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 4.99% or 2.30 points to 48.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 4.81% or 1.00 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 4.76% or 0.70 points to end at 14.00 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was down 4.31% or 8.70 points to 208.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 59 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.76% or 0.70 to 14.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.90% or 0.58 to $65.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.28% or 0.21 to hit $75.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.70 to trade at $1303.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.37% to 420.420, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 361.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.78.
