Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 10.12% or 1.29 points to trade at 14.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 9.88% or 0.170 points to end at 1.890 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 7.55% or 0.040 points to 0.570 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 3.77% or 0.80 points to trade at 20.60 at the close. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) declined 3.60% or 55.99 points to end at 1500.00 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was down 0.84% or 1.94 points to 228.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 59 to 16 and 12 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.73% or 0.45 to $62.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.21% or 0.14 to hit $67.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1319.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.67% to 434.840, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 91.67.
