Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which rose 4.84% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.630 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 3.77% or 2.00 points to end at 55.00 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 3.11% or 0.050 points to 1.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 7.69% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 5.16% or 0.65 points to end at 11.95 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was down 3.56% or 0.50 points to 13.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 53 to 31 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) fell to all time lows; falling 7.69% or 0.040 to 0.500. Shares in Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.16% or 0.65 to 11.95. Shares in Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.56% or 0.50 to 13.55.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $65.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $71.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1184.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.39% to 412.970, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 361.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 96.16.
