Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which rose 4.98% or 12.00 points to trade at 240.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 3.93% or 0.59 points to end at 15.55 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 3.79% or 0.25 points to 6.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 4.55% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.050 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 1.89% or 0.010 points to end at 0.510 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) was down 1.52% or 0.15 points to 9.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 45 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.75% or 0.37 to $49.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.26 to hit $55.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.81% or 10.38 to trade at $1285.28 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.33% to 422.840, while USD/NGN rose 1.27% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
