Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 4.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) added 3.51% or 0.79 points to end at 23.31 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was up 2.04% or 0.80 points to 39.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which fell 3.77% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.510 at the close. Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) declined 1.54% or 0.68 points to end at 44.52 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was down 0.90% or 0.010 points to 1.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 40 to 33 and 18 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.55% or 0.81 to $51.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.32% or 0.76 to hit $56.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.04 to trade at $1289.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.28% to 421.100, while USD/NGN rose 1.27% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 93.00.
