Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which rose 9.62% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Meanwhile, Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 7.28% or 0.95 points to end at 14.00 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 0.63% or 0.010 points to 1.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which fell 9.52% or 1.20 points to trade at 11.40 at the close. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) declined 7.69% or 0.050 points to end at 0.600 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was down 6.10% or 1.60 points to 24.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 49 to 36 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) fell to 5-year lows; down 9.52% or 1.20 to 11.40. Shares in Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.10% or 1.60 to 24.65.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.70% or 1.15 to $68.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.67% or 1.25 to hit $75.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.70% or 20.30 to trade at $1214.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.20% to 419.230, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 362.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 94.99.
