Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 1.44% or 0.030 points to trade at 2.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) added 1.42% or 1.80 points to end at 126.50 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 1.19% or 0.010 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN), which fell 4.48% or 0.30 points to trade at 6.40 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) declined 3.59% or 0.090 points to end at 2.420 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) was down 3.30% or 0.030 points to 0.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 51 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.89% or 1.29 to $69.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.62% or 1.19 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1314.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.12% to 430.840, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 92.41.
