Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which rose 4.98% or 10.80 points to trade at 227.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 4.60% or 0.60 points to end at 13.65 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 3.87% or 1.49 points to 40.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which fell 3.50% or 1.50 points to trade at 40.80 at the close. Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) declined 1.67% or 0.10 points to end at 6.28 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 1.56% or 0.010 points to 0.630.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 44 to 28 and 25 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.51% or 0.24 to $47.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.13 to hit $52.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.39 to trade at $1297.39 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.27% to 424.880, while USD/NGN fell 2.18% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 92.63.
