Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 3.36% or 0.55 points to trade at 16.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) added 2.46% or 0.24 points to end at 10.00 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 2.46% or 0.38 points to 15.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 4.99% or 1.23 points to trade at 23.42 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) declined 3.91% or 3.95 points to end at 97.05 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was down 3.57% or 1.50 points to 40.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 36 to 25 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.46% or 0.38 to 15.88.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.48% or 0.28 to $58.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $63.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.78 to trade at $1291.42 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.85% to 426.450, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.06.
