Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 3.70% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.680 at the close. Meanwhile, Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 2.61% or 0.60 points to end at 23.60 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was up 1.18% or 0.50 points to 43.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which fell 3.10% or 39.99 points to trade at 1250.01 at the close. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 2.82% or 1.45 points to end at 50.00 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was down 2.17% or 0.87 points to 39.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 35 to 32 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) rose to all time highs; up 1.18% or 0.50 to 43.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.94% or 0.54 to $56.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.70% or 0.45 to hit $63.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.85% or 10.99 to trade at $1276.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.00% to 419.020, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 356.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.31.
