Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 5.00% or 1.07 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) added 4.23% or 0.280 points to end at 6.900 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was up 3.88% or 1.40 points to 37.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which fell 8.99% or 1.70 points to trade at 17.20 at the close. Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) declined 1.62% or 0.16 points to end at 9.82 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was down 0.62% or 0.010 points to 1.590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 38 to 36 and 12 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.30% or 1.27 to $56.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.10% or 1.29 to hit $62.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.91% or 11.57 to trade at $1289.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.25% to 424.590, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.62.
