Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which rose 7.14% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.84% or 0.150 points to end at 3.250 and Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) was up 4.32% or 0.35 points to 8.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which fell 2.65% or 3.00 points to trade at 110.20 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 2.05% or 0.030 points to end at 1.430 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was down 1.70% or 25.00 points to 1449.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 54 to 43 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 7.14% or 0.100 to 1.500.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.55% or 1.02 to $64.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.11% or 1.47 to hit $68.18 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.98% or 13.20 to trade at $1334.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.42% to 450.280, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 89.05.
