Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 5.99% or 1.30 points to trade at 22.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.95% or 0.050 points to end at 1.060 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 3.23% or 0.050 points to 1.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which fell 4.66% or 10.99 points to trade at 225.01 at the close. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 1.69% or 0.71 points to end at 41.20 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was down 0.84% or 0.060 points to 7.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 36 to 36 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.88% or 0.48 to $55.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.07% or 0.65 to hit $61.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.63% or 8.10 to trade at $1270.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.04% to 419.320, while USD/NGN fell 0.28% to 355.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.84.
