Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which rose 4.67% or 2.43 points to trade at 54.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 2.04% or 0.89 points to end at 44.50 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 1.92% or 0.010 points to 0.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which fell 3.30% or 0.46 points to trade at 13.51 at the close. Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) declined 2.77% or 0.160 points to end at 5.610 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was down 2.21% or 0.030 points to 1.330.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 35 to 33 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.93% or 0.47 to $49.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.55% or 0.31 to hit $55.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.19 to trade at $1275.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.15% to 420.940, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.33.
