Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 5.17% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 3.92% or 0.72 points to end at 19.05 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was up 2.22% or 5.00 points to 230.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which fell 4.70% or 2.42 points to trade at 49.03 at the close. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) declined 3.10% or 39.97 points to end at 1250.03 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was down 1.26% or 0.12 points to 9.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 39 to 30 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.92% or 0.72 to 19.05.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.28% or 0.16 to $57.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.73% or 0.47 to hit $63.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.39 to trade at $1276.21 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.20% to 416.510, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 356.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 94.81.
