Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 5.00% or 1.15 points to trade at 23.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) added 1.54% or 0.75 points to end at 49.15 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) was up 0.95% or 0.010 points to 1.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which fell 4.82% or 11.00 points to trade at 233.60 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) declined 4.71% or 0.120 points to end at 2.430 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 2.91% or 0.030 points to 1.030.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 60 to 30 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.01% or 0.64 to $64.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.82% or 0.55 to hit $67.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1332.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.24% to 444.700, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 89.87.
