Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 10.19% or 0.84 points to trade at 9.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) added 3.11% or 7.25 points to end at 233.00 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 1.63% or 20.01 points to 1250.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which fell 4.65% or 2.05 points to trade at 42.00 at the close. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 3.85% or 2.00 points to end at 49.51 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was down 2.52% or 1.08 points to 41.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 40 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) rose to 3-years highs; up 10.19% or 0.84 to 9.08. Shares in Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) rose to all time highs; rising 1.63% or 20.01 to 1250.01.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.35% or 0.19 to $54.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.21 to hit $60.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.80 to trade at $1278.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.05% to 418.760, while USD/NGN rose 1.26% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 94.45.
