Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 4.88% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.580 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.67% or 0.070 points to end at 1.570 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 4.00% or 0.020 points to 0.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which fell 4.53% or 70.41 points to trade at 1485.58 at the close. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.26% or 9.79 points to end at 220.16 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) was down 3.85% or 0.020 points to 0.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 38 to 28 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.88% or 0.120 to 2.580. Shares in Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.67% or 0.070 to 1.570.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.41% or 0.25 to $60.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.76% or 0.51 to hit $66.36 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.90 to trade at $1313.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.60% to 433.540, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 91.61.
