Investing.com - U.S. state and federal health officials linked the same chemical found in marijuana products to vaping products, which have led to lung illnesses, the Washington Post reported Thursday.
- The chemical, an oil derived from vitamin E, could be associated with recently reported respiratory symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath and chest pain, the Post said, citing officials who took part in a call between the FDA and state health officials.
- There have been 215 possible cases of lunge illnesses linked to vaping reported from 25 states as of Aug 27.
- Philip Morris International (NYSE:PM) was down 0.8% at 3:15 PM ET (19:15 GMT) and Altria (NYSE:MO) fell 0.4%.
