BEIJING, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Minsheng Banking Corp is prepared to support Xinmao Group's 1 billion euro ($1.34 billion) bid for Dutch cable maker Draka, a source close to the deal said on Friday.
Xinmao and Minsheng "have been in close touch" about the bid, said the source, who declined to be named since he was not authorised to speak with the media.
Minsheng is a private bank and is the country's seventh-largest lender.
Dutch cable maker Draka is considering a takeover offer from China's privately held Xinmao, which swooped in with an unexpected bid after Draka had agreed to be acquired by Italy's Prysmian.
Du Kerong, Xinmao's chairman, is in the Netherlands with a team of senior executives to negotiate the deal, said another source, who also declined to be named.
