Investing.com -- U.S. stocks rose on Thursday as investors tried to revive a summer rally. Here are the midday movers for Aug. 25:
- Peloton Interactive Inc (NASDAQ:PTON) stock plunged 19% after the exercise equipment company disappointed investors with its outlook. More customers quit its subscription service in the recent quarter than analysts had forecast.
- Teladoc Inc (NYSE:TDOC) shares rose 2.9% on word potential competitor Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) was shutting down its Amazon Care telehealth service by the end of this year.
- Williams-Sonoma Inc (NYSE:WSM) stock rose 1.5% after the specialty home goods and furniture retailer reported stronger than expected earnings amid a difficult period for retailers.
- Coty Inc (NYSE:COTY) shares rose 8% after the cosmetics and perfume maker reported continued strong demand despite the inflation that is keeping shoppers from buying clothing and other items.
- Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ:DLTR) shares dropped 10% after the discount retailer beat profit expectations but cut its outlook for the full year as it faces competitive pricing trends.
