Investing.com -- U.S. stocks turned lower on Tuesday as investors await more economic data this week. Here are the midday movers for Sept. 6:
- Digital World Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:DWAC) shares fell 17% after the special purpose vehicle that planned to merge with the Truth Social media platform reportedly failed to get enough shareholder support to extend the deal's closing.
- GameStop Corp (NYSE:GME) shares fell 9% ahead of the meme stock's earnings report on Wednesday.
- Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) stock dipped 0.7% as lawyers for the social media company and Elon Musk were set for a hearing in Delaware on whether Musk can add allegations from a whistleblower complaint to his countersuit in the two sides' merger dispute.
- Bed Bath & Beyond Inc (NASDAQ:BBBY) shares fell more than 16% after the death of the retailer's chief financial officer over the weekend and it named an interim CFO.
- CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) shares fell 1.2% after it announced an $8 billion plan to acquire Signify Health to push it further into the primary care business.
